A teacher from Riceville, Iowa, Jane Elliot proposes an experiment so well-crafted that it exposes its participants, Middle-American third-graders, to the reality of racism and discrimination.
My child psychology class in college studied Jane Elliot's experiment a couple of years ago and it was fascinating to me how she affected these children for the rest of their lives. I would be interested to see whether this kind of activity would carry the same weight in today's internet age as it did in the 60's and 70's.
